Get the tracks fast

1-Go to ''tracks'' sub-folder in the game directory.
2-Use text editor to edit the ''tracks.ini'' file.
3-Change the values in ''m_price[0]=0'' to m_price[0]=*''
4-Do the same with ''m_price[1]=1000'', ''m_price[2]=1000'', m_price[3]=1000.
5-Save the file.

Now you can get all tracks for the $ that you set!
* is the number that you set, it can be any number.
*Create a backup copy of the files before doing eneything!!!!

Use helicopter, roadblocks, and backup more than three times

Here's what you do.
1) Goto your Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 directory
2) Goto the AI directory
3) Double click on the file AIChaseDefs.ini
4) Go down to where it says SingleRaceSupportMax
5) Change the number after the equal sign to 100
6) Go down to where it says #startPursuitLevel
7) Change the number after the equal sign to 100
8) Go down to where it says #startPursuitStrategy
9) Change the number after the equal sign to 100
10) Go down to where it says #freezeCops
11) Change the number after the equal sign to 100

Edit car and Track price

Open cars.ini file in your Cars folder using Notepad and make the following modification:

price=10
nfsprice=10

Now, you'll be able to buy all the cars for $10.

Change track price
The edit trick can be done to change the price of the tracks as well. Just open tracks.ini in the Tracks folder and edit all lines starting with 'm_price'. For example:

m_price[0]=10

Change mass of the car
Using notepad open car.ini file located in the folder. For example I.E Cars/911T/Cars.ini. Change Mass to i.e 100 and you will have a rocket Porsche.

NOTE: Before editing, you might need to uncheck read-only attribute from ini files. To do that, browse to the folder where your car.ini files is located, right Click on the file car.ini, select Properties and remove the check from Read-only check box. Also, make backup before editing!

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 Cheat: No Police Chases

(Caution this cheat requires you to edit game files, create a copy of the file before editing)this cheat enables you to race without the hassle of being chased in any event. First go to the game directory and open the "AI" folder. Then open the "AIChaseDefs" configuration. Once open, change all the numbers in these four lines to say 0.

Before:
pursuitLevel_1_Duration=30
pursuitLevel_2_Duration=30
pursuitLevel_3_Duration=40
pursuitLevel_4_Duration=40
pursuitLevel_5_Duration=45
After:
pursuitLevel_1_Duration=0
pursuitLevel_2_Duration=0
pursuitLevel_3_Duration=0
pursuitLevel_4_Duration=0
pursuitLevel_5_Duration=0

Once you have done that the police will only chase you for about 2 seconds

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 Cheat: Car Edits

Open up the game's files and search for a file named Championship.ini. PLEASE REMEMBER: Doing this may corrupt or ruin your game file or other computer functions, so attempt this AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Open the Championship.ini file and search for the following:

* m_NumAvailableCars=3
* m_Availablecarlist[0]=ellise
* m_Availablecarlist[1]=speedstr
* m_Availablecarlist[2]=vx220

Edit those lines with this:

* m_NumAvailableCars=6
* m_Availablecarlist[0]=ellise
* m_Availablecarlist[1]=speedstr
* m_Availablecarlist[2]=vx220
* m_Availablecarlist[3]=mllm
* m_Availablecarlist[4]=clkgtr
* m_Availablecarlist[5]=f50

Doing this will unlock more standard cars for you to drive than would otherwise be immediately available.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 Command Line Cheats

Create a shortcut to the nfshs.exe executable in the drive_letter:\...\Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2\ directory. Add the following command lines to the shortcut to turn on various cheats:

+ghost - player car is invisible to opponent
+opentree - locked events can be played
+nofrustration - disable confirmation
+nomovie - disable movie demos
+nomusic - no music
+nosnd - no sound
+noreverb - no reverberation
+nofrontend - no HUD
+nomipmap - disables mipmapping
+noparticles - disables particle effects
+minfront - enable main menu
+helicoptorsonly - cops only use choppers
+screenshots - screenshots enabled
